Possessing The Mind of Christ by O.L. Jaggers

One of the most tremendous statements in the entire Bible is the one that says: "As a man thinks, so is he."

Whatever your thoughts are, that is what you are! Our character is in our thoughts. What our desires are, that our life will be. Our dominating desire will be our predominant destiny! Jesus said, "Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." Would you like to improve your character? Then pour good thoughts into your mind. Remember, if your thoughts are good, your actions will be good!

We need preaching along this line, because it is not how you act before people, or how you appear before people openly before the world, or before the Christian people, but it is what you are, what your thoughts are behind closed doors, where no one can see you. But, GOD can see you! Just you and GOD! What are your thoughts then? Do they dwell on the things of GOD? And on spiritual things? "Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor sits in the seat of the scornful, nor stands in the way of sinners, for his delight is in the law of the LORD, AND IN HIS LAW DOES HE MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT!" The way to a good conscience, to pure thoughts, is to meditate in the law of the LORD day and night. How rich is the Word of GOD! "Sweeter than honey to my taste!"

Pure thoughts are the way to a good conscience. A good conscience is given by GOD, and how can HE give it unless we read HIS Word and meditate therein? Fill your mind and thoughts with HIS Word. "Meditate therein day and night!" When one meditates and fills his mind with thoughts and resolutions about the loving GOD, then he becomes GOD-conscious, always keeping in mind the commandments of GOD, which if obeyed, will guide every action of the body.

Do you love to meditate in the law of the LORD day and night? Is GOD first in your life? Take time to meditate and think about GOD. The less you think of GOD and HIS Word, the less time you have for HIM! The time you have for anything depends on how much you think of it! It is our thinking that determines our time, not the time our thinking! Love Christ, then you will have time to meditate in HIS Word. Get alone with GOD each day, in the secret closet of prayer. In the silence where GOD is, all false desires fall away from your mind!

"Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see GOD." These are the only people mentioned in the Bible who will SEE GOD! The pure in heart, the pure in mind, with thoughts undefiled, having a cleansed mind. Those who are controlled in thought by the Spirit constantly working in them. "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus." It is the pure in thought, the pure in mind, who are controlled by the Divine Spirit of GOD, constantly working in them day by day, that can be healed and claim the victory every time over every affliction! "Blessed are the pure in heart..." We HAVE the mind of Christ!
