"And when Jesus departed there, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, You son of David, have mercy on us. And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus said to them, Believe you that I am able to do this? They said to him, Yes, Lord. Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it to you. And their eyes were opened."
Here we have two men who were blind coming to Jesus for healing. They were determined. How many would have given up when the LORD did not stop and give them HIS full attention on the way. They pursued HIM until HE came to the place where HE was residing. HIS question to them was "Believe you that I am able to do this?" The question was heart searching. Do you believe that Jesus, and Jesus alone, has the ability to put you in right relations to GOD, supply your need, and heal your body? These two men knew there was no other way, certainly no better way! Their reply came quickly and full of confidence, "Yes, Lord." The very fact that HE gave heed to them was a good sign that HE was both willing and able to help.
HE touched their eyes and said something that has rung like a clarion call down through the ages. Jesus said, "According to your faith be it to you." We have read far more into this than what HE actually said. Notice, HE did not say, "In proportion to your faith be it to you." None of us have sufficient faith for the miraculous. Man deals only with those things that are in the realm of possibility, GOD deals with the impossible. The Psalmist declares that our good LORD "knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust." HE does not require that we believe in a miracle. All HE requires is that we believe that Jesus, and Jesus alone is willing and able. Do you need a miracle? Do you believe that Jesus Christ maketh thee whole? Then according to that, the fact that your faith is in HIM, be made whole!
